Steps to Start a Thread

The first thing that enters a new member of a certain forum is how she is going to start a thread. Well, it might be easy because there are so many topics that you can post depending on the forum you had joined. But there are things for you to consider like being familiar with the things about the people who usually post on the forum. Forums vary in their purpose or kind. There are cool forums which may focus on animation or forums that are ideal for businesses. Before having your forum threads posted, here some things to know first.

  • Not all people on forums that you had joined have the same interest as you so before posting your first thread. You have to observe the forum for a number of weeks. Make yourself familiar with the people and the kind of issues that raise interest.
  • Since you are new to the forum, make friend with the other members by saying a simple ‘hi’ and ‘hello’. Inform them how you love their forum thread and fun info.
  • Make sure that the thread you are going to post is suitable. Refrain for using rude words or words that might hurt the other members.
  • As a first timer, it is just expected for you to be clueless on how to start and use the message board. Go over it and make yourself familiar with the areas on the board for you to know where to post your thread exactly. Posting thread in a wrong area will cause other members to feel bad about you.
  • Start with simple and short posts but can lead to a conversation. It would be good if you’ll ask the other members of their opinion on the topic. Share your own view as well.
  • There are instances for first timers to post threads that cannot get attention of the other members but that’s okay. You have all the time and chances to try again until eventually you can open a conversation.
Join top forums that are frequently visited by people because there will be a lot of possibilities for you to learn many things.
